An easy and moderate trek of 3-4 Kms to Tungnath Serene, expandable to Chandrashila offers a breath-taking view of Himalayan Peaks and lush green meadows.

According to Hindu legend Tungnath is where the arms of Lord Shiva are said to have appeared, while other parts appeared at other Panch Kedar temples like Kedarnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. Another legend states that Lord Rama meditated at Tungnath to seek penance after defeating the demon king Ravana.
These legends contribute to Tungnath's reputation as a place where devotees can connect deeply with their inner selves and the divine. The trek to the temple is seen not just as a physical journey but also as a spiritual one, leading to enlightenment and inner peace.
Day - 1: Haridwar to Kanakchauri Via Devpryag & Rudraprayag – By Road.
» Leave Haridwar by 6.00 AM to reach Kanakchauri well before by evening covering a distance of 211 Kms (approx.) in 10 plus hrs, which is on Rudraprayag – Pokhri route of Rudrapray district in Uttrakhand.
Enjoy your drive all along the river Ganges at Rishikesh, Shivpuri, Khodiyala leaving it at Deoprayag, the confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda, there after along the river Alaknanda up to Rudraprayag, the confluence of Mandakini & Alaknanda. The natural beauty all along the drive keep you amazed.
Day - 2: Kanakchauri to Kartikswamy Temple Site – Trek.
» Trekking Distance: 3 - 3.5 Kms (4 Plus hrs.)
» Kanakchauri village is situated at an elevation of 1800 M ASL.
» Kartikswamy Temple is situated at an elevation of 3050 M ASL.

» Drive back to Haridwar via Augstmuni.
