KedarTal Trek – High altitude n’ Challenging. Testimony of even a seasoned trekker is being put to the test. A trek to remember for its never-ending ascends.
This is a high altitude, challenging (not easy) trek. On this trek, the testimony of even a seasoned trekker is being put to the test. This strenuous yet rewarding trek leads to Glacial Lake, which is located in the isolated place of Garhwal Himalays of Uttrakhand (INDIA) at an elevation of 15600 feet/ 4724 m Above Sea Level. This trek offers stunning views of both Mt. Thalaysagar and Bhrigupant, with Manda Peak to the left of Bhrigupant, which can be seen on the way from Bhoj Khark to Kedar Kharak.
Trekking to Kedartal, is an incredible experience that starts from Gangotri, one of Uttrakhand's holiest pilgrimages and one of the Chardhams.
It is required to spend one day in Gangotri for acclimatization (which is compulsory) before attempting this trek. Must visit to Surya Kund, and remember to perform evening prayers at Gangotri Dham.
The entire trek is a hard ascent that leads to base Kedar Kharak via Bhoj Kharak, the first camping spot that is well-known for Bhoj Patra. Remember to gather them as souvenir.
At Kedar Kharak, the temperature typically drops to negative. Trekkers should make sure they are equipped to handle such harsh conditions by packing warm clothing.
It is our duty to advise you on the benefits and drawbacks of a specific trek. From Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak, there is a small section of the trek where there is a risk of falling rocks. While it is not our intention to dissuade anyone, it is our responsibility to make trekkers aware of certain areas, with safety being our top priority.
